This picture doesn't do her justice, but she's the cutest hamster in the world. I thought I was all done with hamsters after The Maven and The Writer went through several in their younger years. But then Athena came into the Boston household this year. I resisted falling for her, but after I saw how sweet-tempered and smart she was I couldn't help but develop a hamster-crush.
Athena stayed here through The Maven's Christmas break and a couple of weeks beyond. Until... today. Athena rode off with her mom and I lost my little veggie-loving buddy.
On the bright side, The Bostons and cats are happy to have my undivided attention once again.
