Reality. It Always Takes Over!

Especially on my kitchen table.

Especially after a busy couple of weeks of entertaining and wedding stuff.

"Cheerwine" a childhood favorite of The Writer's.  We used to get it when we visited NC.  Anyone else heard of it?  (It's not alcoholic!  Don't worry - ha ha)

Yearbooks my nephew used to flatten and preserve the boutonniere Mr. T wore.

Mail, of course.

H.M. the fish The Maven gave her dad for Father's Day.  Although he's been renamed Lazarus due to his recent dramatic revival from what we thought was him dying.

MOG's bouquet.  Wanting to see how long some of these unusual flowers last.  Plus I like to look at it.

The newspaper.  Have to read it every day or I'm out of whack.

My constant companion. My phone. Somedays I forget to bring it to the grocery store or gym with me and it's like a holiday.

Reality. It's back.

  1. I love your post. What is it about kitchen tables? They seem to be a magnet for all sorts of things. Considering you just had a wedding and all sorts of visitors, it's amazing it isn't more crowded.

I tried to straighten up a bit on my table the other day. It didn't last!

Thanks so much for joining in!

  2. Yep, I've got a kitchen table that will make it on an upcoming Reality Thursday.............it's pretty bad but only because of my DH!

Brave you sharing this space. You have a good excuse right now after all the upheaval a wedding must produce - that was a fun time from the looks of your photos. Loved the vintage/shabby chic theme.

    Have a great day.

    Let's see it had:

    crumbs
    old license plates
    rubber window seal
dust masks (thought I had to don the dust mask; but no not that bad yet)
    seed packets
    onion sets
    pot holder
    Mail
    Hobby Farms 'chicken' magazine
Broccoli and Cauliflower plants waiting to be planted...

    You get the idea--

Love your honesty- thanks for keeping it real!

  9. Your table is clean compared to mine! I would hate for anyone to see the mess I've got going on all around my house! I keep telling myself, "one day it will be clean"! lol It was spotless before kids....

  10. Yours looks like mine on an average day! You must be neater than I am. I see you have a Boston, Boston Lady. I've had them much of my adulthood. My youngest daughter in Tulsa has a rescue Boston named Maggie.

  12. Never heard of Cheerwine...
Getting back to normal, it takes me a while. That yearbook looks familier, it's good for something.
    It's time to relax.
