This is the one thing I couldn't paint in preparation for selling the house. Just couldn't do it!
Too many memories attached and maybe the potential buyers will find it charming but insist it be painted. I would do it then.
But not before.
Had some potential buyers come and look last night. Young couple, no kids yet. IF they are THE ONES, maybe it will inspire them to keep track of the years as we have.
If it needs to be covered let them do it after you move - we have one too and I could never cover it either. It would break my heart. Good luck selling. sandie

ReplyDeleteWe have the same thing in our kitchen of all places. We keep saying we need to transfer it to a board and make it something we can take with us. Getting ready for the move?
ReplyDeleteOn the door jam of my house, that I bought about 12 years ago, there is marks on the hall door jam with the previous families kid's height as they grew up. I have a "grown' chart" of my grandkids heights on the door jam in my bedroom. Somethings in life are just meant to be "untouched"!

It is charming!
Take a good picture as well, it might be one you will frame and put on the wall of your new home.

I understand Ann. That will be hard to paint over. I did CC's growth chart on a long poster. It moves with me. She does too so far:}

I would hate to part with that growth chart too. Maybe you could photograph it in segments and piece the pics together and take it to a print shop to enlarge to full size and keep it forever. Just a thought.

ReplyDeleteI think you need to photogrpah that really well and then get it blown up into a large sticky back stencil and install it in your new house...a good print show would do that for you.
