Simple Sunday: Peek at Newlyweds' Home

I'm joining Elaine at  Sunny Simple Life with a quick peek at The Writer and Sammy's new house in LA.

It is a 1920s Spanish Style home (forgot to take pictures of the outside), located in an older area of central Los Angeles.  The house had been totally refurbished before going on the market and includes a Master Suite addition.

 Living area

The Newlywed's have done a really nice job of decorating, adding some built-ins and making the most of their space.

Dining area

Glassed in shelves added under kitchen bar for more storage

Kitchen

Storage benches in "eat-in" end of kitchen

Hall closet cleverly turned into open storage and display space

Shelves added in extra space in hallway by Master Suite

As you can see Stanley has also settled in nicely.

I also forgot to take pictures of their nice backyard with a couple of citrus trees growing back there!
Nevertheless, a cozy, comfortable, pretty home.

  5. It sounds like you have a lot of change in your life right now. I had to read back through a lot of posts to see why your were relocating. I wish you luck in North Hills. The Valley is too hot for me. Once you are settled and looking for a place to buy, you might consider Ventura County. I saw on one of your maps that you had circle Agoura Hills which is nearly in Ventura County.
Tennis is big in CA so I am sure Mr. T will get up a regular game soon.

  10. Yes, Ann, this home is beautiful!
I like the white kitchen, and good use of shelves and other storage areas, and altogether the newlyweds have created a comfortable, cozy, and pretty home!
I love that Stanley found himself a nice sunny spot to sleep, and he certainly does look well settled in.
I love older homes, and think the Spanish style is interesting - do they have a tile roof?
I can see why you must feel bursting with pride with what they've accomplished here.
