Last week while we were in St. Augustine, Florida, Mr. Tennis and I took a few hours one afternoon and visited :
It has been awhile since I've been around so many different alligators and crocodiles. And I was particularily glad they were behind glass or some other barrier.
Although it's always more thrilling to see these creatures in the wild, you never get quite the up-close experience you get at one of these farms.
Take a look at some of the different kinds of gators and crocs we saw during our visit:
This Albino Alligator is quite spectacular, isn't he (or she)?
This gator had captured a turtle for lunch.
The main distinguishing feature between and alligator and a crocodile is the snout. The gators' are more broad and the crocs' are longer and skinny.
Sometimes really skinny!
I got some footage of that gator trying to keep his "turtle catch" away from his mates. Not too graphic, but not for the feight of heart either. Those are not our voices on the tape, but they provided pretty good color commentary.

Wow! Look at all those lovely crocs. Makes me think of the line from the movie, "Romancing the Stone" - Look at those snappers! Kit
Crikey indeed. I am scared just looking at them. That skinny nosed one is like none I have ever seen!
Remember when Steve Irwin held his baby up by that alligator. I h ave never forgotten...crazy!!!
Oh my gosh - I brought my kids to that when they were little and now my grandson - love that place. Thanks for the memories.

Wow...that albino alligator IS amazing!
Pretty nice . Albino is really interesting . Will still give them a WIDE berth.
Any vacation in
FL has to include alligators, thanks for sharing
Those are impressive creatures! Excellent photos!
I haven't seen that many gators in one place since the last time I was in The Swamp.
I'm not sure if I have ever seen any alligators like that before. If I did I don't remember it! I would seriously be scared to be that close to them! lol
Tuesdays' Show & Tail!

Your ring is beautiful! I have started a blog where people share how their they viewed a disappointment as a positive thing. I think this post would be great for my contest. I think people would be inspired by your husband's attitude!Take a look. triumphandtears.blogspot.com
I like the nice purses and boots that are made from these creatures! LOL! They are so scary looking and can they be vicious. I saw a nature program that said alligators will kill their young if they try to come back to the nest! Yikes! But very interesting facts to tell the difference between crocs and gators. Thanks
