Oh My Gosh, It's December!

I'm all out of whack as to what time of year it is and didn't even realize today was December 1st until I decided to visit a couple of blogs this morning.

So much prettiness and festiviness (nope! not a word, but I used it).

Orlando Grandma and I have still been running around, shopping, seeing the sights and attending a television taping last night. Unfortunately, her visit comes to a close Tuesday morning, so we are going to squeeze as much into the next several days as we can, especially since The Writer and Sammy have returned to town and we can ALL get together.

All of us including a very busy Mr. T and newly employed Maven,  got together Thursday night for a quick dinner and to see an outstanding movie.

Such good performances, great story line, funny, sad, different from the book, yet still so good.  If you go see the movie, read the book too, either before or after because it gives an even different perspective on the complications- sometimes humorous, sometimes distressing, sometimes heartbreaking,  but always hopeful - in the world of families dealing with mental health issues.  It's a quick, easy read and the movie was a great compliment and adaptation.

So, now, December.
I must get into the garage this week and start pulling out some holiday decorations to perk up our new home.

AND I look forward to doing something different with my cage.
Bird cage, that is. Remember it?

For the moment this small nod to the time of year will have to do:

Have a great weekend and a wonderful start to the new month!

December certainly showed up quickly, didn't it?!
What fun times you all have been having!! Christmas in southern CA is pretty, though sometimes hot.
Hey, I saw a Boston Terrier the other day...it was almost all white, except for the ears and one little spot of black near its tail. I have never seen one like that before!!

I think Mondays are free at the Getty - you just have to pay for parking. The view should be fantastic if the weather clears!!

I am glad you talked about that movie. I want to see it and I value your opinion. I sometimes read the book after I see a movie. With the mental health issues I am sure it's a good read. I did that with Water for Elephants. Enjoy your weekend too!

this book looks good. I had put it on my wish list when I noticed it on your sidebar last week. It's interesting to see that it's also made into a moive. You give it a good review, and I am glad it is positive and uplifting - it sounds like something I would be happy to see.
The time does seem to be going by quickly for me as well. I too was surprised to find it was the 1st yesterday! :)
