Or, as I like to think of it.
Round 2.
Went Ortho doc so he could scrutinize the xrays of my MASSIVE injury. It is indeed broken (proof in the x-ray) and he says in order for it to heal in the proper way I shall have minor outpatient surgery to yank the finger back in place and then put a couple of pins in to stablize the area,
And, yes, he used the word "yank".
Apparently my arm will be numbed, but I shall be awake so I may assist in the process, I suppose.
Do the pins qualify me and my hand for Pinterest?
They put a "better" (read: rigid and more cumbersome) splint on today to protect my digit from further harm until the surgery, All I know is now it is harder to type.
Whine, whine, whine, whine.
It is excellent, I am appreciative.
I am to go to my "family doc" to get all sorts of tests for clearance. Oh, you mean the lady I went to about a month ago? Thank goodness I had already "broken" a new doc in and told her all my "problems". Fortunately I was to see her tomorrow to follow up on blood work and ask her to please help me breathe better - my asthma is behaving badly. Maybe it needs a splint too.
So that's the plan! And since Stan rhymes with plan I'm going to show you the pictures I finally received of him chatting up some new friends at the dog park.
See him in the red collar?
Who knew he could actually look small?
Thanks for all the tea and sympathy, I appreciate it very much.
Actually I've been thinking how I might work this all to my advantage... I'm on a waiting list to be on the red carpet at the Oscar's Sunday. If I get to go I shall wield whatever contraption I have on after surgery and garner sympathy from passing celebs. I only have one target in mind, Mr. Bradley Cooper. Surely he will sign my pathetic "whatever I will be wearing" and then be overcome with sadness that I must stand out there in that condition. (I know, I know, dream sequence stuff) He will insist that I join him and his mother inside and then kick someone out of their seat so I may be more comfortable. (End dream sequence)
Think I can pull that off?

Damn, when you fall, you don't mess around! Ouch!! I hope you recover quickly.
Take care,
Sue
When is all this pinning going to happen? Has to be this week or you can't ask Mr. Bradley C. to sign cast ~ right ! With all the Whine ypu talked about maybe you can get some of the real wine !
Left handed typing works very well !
Ooh, ouch again! And I can definitely see a lot more milking about to happen! Hope all goes well and you are healed soon! Cheers~
I feel so bad for you - hope all goes well and you are on the mend soon!
Oh no again! That just sounds scary to have to have a pin put in like that! I'd rather be sleeping through any surgery whether major or minor!
I can only imagine how small the boston would look beside of those big horse dogs! lol I know my dogs would look small and probably would be scared to be around them big dogs! lol
Yes, of course it will happen!! Take pictures for us when it does. You must be typing with some toes. I don't like the yank part.
Stan looks so handsome hanging with the dogs!
Bradley Cooper you say?
In my version of that dream,...your with your bloggy friend Corn, and he has the clout to get us both a comfortable seat!
I'm pinning this!
:P
Pat
I think you need wine. Poor finger and what a nuisance.
Pintrist!! BOL!!
Oh no, surgery. You did fall and mess that hand up real good. I just read Silver Linings Playbook and must see that movie. Hang in there-I hope you got pain medicine. Remember ice (twenty minutes only) and elevation.
So now it's surgery! You will do anything for a blog post, eh? lol!!
Good for Stanley and his day out with the big dogs!!
you know i am jealous of that oscar talk. i hope your dream sequence partially comes true...you know, the more realistic meeting and signing part.
Okay - that yank is going to be expensive. Take me with you to see Brad and I will yank it for free! Seriously though - best wishes.
I can't believe you have to have the surgery and get pins put in.
When is your surgery? Hope you get your asthma worked out too and that you get that call so you can see Bradley!!! Take care sweet friend. ((HUGS)) Looks like fun at the dog park.
Had not turned the computer on for a couple of days, just leared of your fall. I suppose they will take care of the breathing problem first. My thoughts and prayers are with you, for the strenth in situations like this one. All my love
I have not been on in quite some time. Sorry to hear of your injurey. I take a steroid for my RA so I understand breaks and strains and such. I wish you fast healing & comfort. Hugs. Tammy
I'm with SueBee - don't like the sound of that yank. Keep us all posted, if possible. Maybe it's time for voice recognition software! Get well soon and give Bradley my love!
That's your little finger, it's supposed to be just a small thing...whoa when you fall you go big.
Hope it's all OK soon.
Jen, of the queasy stomach.
Feel better! That is no fun at all!
