The Birds Are Huge Here In CA!

After installing a small bird feeder in the backyard last week, I was ready to snap pictures of the feathered visitors that seemed to swarm here out of nowhere.

Alas, the small feeder took a fatal fall, either the victim of the windy days we've been experiencing or from the weight of the enormous squirrels that hang around this neighborhood.

In the midst of a wild health week, Mr. T knew that putting up a new feeder would help me feel better.

So up it went and as I watched for new visitors, I realized that we had some crazy big black and white birds eating the seed!

Guilty as heck!

Busted!

Holy Bostons Batman!

Now how desparate does a dog have to be to eat bird seed?

Come On!

Now that the black and white "pigeons" have finished cleaning the spilled "treasure"  I hope to start getting some pictures of the wonderful variety of birds that show up in this backyard.

Here's one I hope you can see.  Hard to get a picture and I need to refill their special feeders - these hummingbirds are quite plentiful.

Can you see it?

Fingergate Update:  Still in limbo for repair surgery, but I think I will get the go ahead within a day or two.  Turns out I had a lot of fluid in my lungs, not pneumonia. Was sent to a cardio doc to interpret check xrays, get some meds to stabilize BP and get rid of fluids.  Three days later I am 15 lbs lighter.  All liquid!  Breathing finally better. After surgery I will need to follow up with Cardio Doc to figure out why this all happened.... I'm still trying to wrap my mind around it all, but I guess I can say my little finger probably did save me afterall.

All the best for the week ahead.
Some bloggy friends going through some tough times right now.  I have you special people in my thoughts!

(And , "yay" for Ben Affleck!)

Sending get well wishes to you! Love the naughty looks on the pooch's face. We love watching the birds too, always surprising how as soon as you put out food they come. Minerva ~

Birds of a feather ~ did someone tell the Bostons ~ THEY ARE DOGS. The rule book goes out the window when " food " is involved. Hope you see lots of intersteing birds. I had to stop feeding them as the squirrels became a very big problem. Is there no further comment on the Oscars? Stay well ! ! !

I had to stop the birdfeeder and my dogs constantly ate all the dropped bits.

That's good thing about your finger pointing you to your lung issue....

I agree with Razmataz...pinky finger issues...pointed out lung issues.

The pups are funny! From that last picture of Panda...looks like the Cali-sunshine is so bright, she needs shades!

thanks for keeping us posted on "fingergate"

Just goes to show there is a silver lining to every cloud. So sorry to hear about the fluid in your lungs. You need to move back to Florida - California is not doing well by you.

The picturs of the Bostons are so funny. My lovely dog seems to be quite interested in our kitchen trash can after he has eaten his dinner. Have yet to figure that one out.

Get well soon.

I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. CG

Seems like things happen for a reason sometimes...might have been your "lucky break" (sorry couldn't resist that very bad pun). Hope they get things straightened out for you soon! Sounds like diuretics are starting to do the trick!
The pups are too funny...love the guilty evidence...my pugs would go for that seed, too, they'll eat anything!

So it was a good break after all?

Glad they found that lung problem before it got any worse.

Fingergate...lol.

I know you feed the Bostons-they must like the crunch. Shelley will eat anything though. He just ate a Peep. Fluid on the lungs? Now how did that happen? You should be breathing better after getting that off. xo, olive

Oh my gosh I laughed so hard with the bird seed on the mouth! The winds were horrible, worst I've seen in a long time. I can't believe your update with your lungs. ((HUGS)) Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Great photo of the Boston Seed Thief. My girls eat the seed too, I think mainly because they don't like the idea of anybody getting food from Mama except them! LOL!
Wow, fluid in the lungs not pneumonia. Well, glad you are feeling better, and lighter. Hopefully that pinky is going to get all straightened out soon.
We had tons and tons of hummers when we lived in CA. It was fabulous. Also magpies! And road runner sightings (real ones not cartoon or cable company!)

Since I believe in angels hanging around looking after us, I think one of them pushed you down so you had to go to the Dr. and discover something that could have been be more serious. Glad to hear you got rid of the fluid and feel better. My prayers for good health are with you .
