I Will NOT Give Up My REAL Morning Paper!

I tried when we moved to give it up.
Mr. T said it would be a good time to try the tablet version of our new paper,
I tried for over a week.
It was unsatisfying.
Breakfast was over so quickly because I couldn't navigate through the *#@* menu.

No lingering with a second cup of coffee.
No grit on my fingers.
Nope.
Couldn't do it.

Mr.T didn't get it and persisted in reading the tablet version while I perused the lovely newsprint one that lands on our sidewalk every morning.

Now I catch him reading from the "real" newspaper too.

This little video pretty much sums up the two sides of the issue in our house:
(Even if you don't speak French, you get the idea!)

Click here to see what I mean.

I do enjoy my Kindle Books, however, wonder what the difference is?

(Thanks to Mr. Connor for the video link!)

That's so funny! We gave up our newspaper a couple of years ago, but I guess real paper has its place lol!

Well I don't read the paper because I don't do the news but my husband loves his paper and coffee on the weekends. I love that commercial.
However I do like to buy books and have those in my hands! Have a great week.....Debby

We get the weekend paper (Friday through Sunday) and I completely agree that there is no replacing the slow reading from page to page. Handing the page I want Joe to read over to him and he picking out the funny comics for me is all part of the joy of it. It is a comfortable ritual I do not wish to give up.

My mom had a paper everyday of her life that I can remember. Started in the morning over coffee and finished after dinner with decaf.

I loved that video....Emma?

Snort.

We gave up our morning papers when we moved here, it was no longer relevant to this area...but it was a hard thing to get used to.

We do have a 3 times weekly local paper, that we have to go and pick up, no home delivery in the country. LOL.

But now I've replaced it with reading blogs...so it all worked out.

Ann,
I am with you on this. I've tried the Kindle version of the Toronto Globe and Mail, but there tends to be alot left out. I also like seeing the advertisements, and turning the paper pages, so I buy this paper every Saturday, if possible.

Well I am glad to see I am not the only one who wants a "real " paper. How do you pack things to send if you don't have old newpapers to wrap around them. Besides " wrapping paper " for Christmas presents was always the Sunday funnies. The Boston Lady will back me up on this !

OH MY GOSH.. my husband & I just had this talk. He is a kindle junkie, I am a seeker of the paper. I figure if it can't be held & worshipped for an hour, it's probably not worth reading. The faster the world goes by the more I hold on to what little I can of the past. Too funny. Hugs. Tammy

I love books and newspapers! I Am not into all this modern technology as much as most are! Something about the Sunday paper still excites me! Sigh!
