Oh Boy...So, there's a delay

I know my loyal readers are going to be sorely disappointed that Mr. Tennis and I will have to postpone the juggernaut that is our rip-off PB bed foundation.  Unfortunately somebody in this household has to work, besides me, and Mr. T's talents are being called upon this upcoming weekend.

You will be happy to know that I, hard-working Boston Lady that I am, went to two, count them, two, home improvement stores today to see if they would pre-cut wood.  One would not. (boo, hiss, L's).  One will. (cheers, balloons, streamers, HD).  So, we may at least go and get our wood cut this weekend and then strategize about how to proceed from there.

Question for anyone who has worked with raw wood construction.  Do you sand the peices BEFORE putting them together or do you wait and sand the finished structure?  Advice is appreciated.

Sand afterwards and yes, you will have to use finish nails. The mirror can get away with adhesive as there is no weight being applied but a bed is another story.

Mr. Tennis is welcome to call Mr. Decor for additional tips. Or have Mr. Tennis call his former stepfather who is a genius at such matters. :)

If the pieces to assemble are heavy, I would sand them beforehand, as it is easier to handle (lift, tilt, turn around)separate pieces than a whole assembled structure, especially one of hard and heavy wood.

Oh my, the questions start. I have no idea. But when you finish this I need a platform bed in Montana so if you come you get free room and board! Isn't that a deal!? Buy your tickets and come out and work for a week then fly back. Sounds good to me.

Thank you all for your advice. We will take this project a little at a time. Looks like it will be on hold for this weekend, but perhaps we will begin the next.
