This and That. Dr. Evil, Fingergate, Cagescape, The Maven and Tom Cruise

That title should garner some interest, don't you think?

I have a new talent.
I can do the perfect imitation of this character:

Fingergate has entered the Physical Therapy stage where I go to visit a lovely young therapist three times a week and she attempts to make my little finger bend.

The finger is winning at this point.
I am faithfully doing my exercises, applying cocoa butter (I now smell like a Pina Colada all day - not so bad, right?), heat, ice....

This is how far I can bend it when I make a fist:
(Hence the reference to Dr. Evil)

Just think if it was a different finger!

You may notice in the background of the last picture that I have tweaked my cage for a new "cagescape".  So far just a couple of succulents, a cactus and a Boston.  As I said, tweaking.

The Maven is hanging in there with the Vertigo, headaches and anticipation of surgery. Next Monday she has an appointment with the Neurosurgeon.  He should have all the scans and test results digested and we can ask more questions and hopefully get a surgery date lined up.  Once he gives the go ahead, surgery is scheduled within 2-3 weeks, we are told. Hope so!

We all (the five humans in the family) went to see "Oblivion" this weekend. I know, I know.  Everyone's down on Tom Cruise these days, but this was a really good movie.  I'm not much of a Sci-Fi fan, but this one had a compelling storyline and beautiful scenery. Not a crazy amount of CGI effects either.

A lot of it was filmed in Iceland, where The Writer and Sammy went on their honeymoon - it was the perfect backdrop for the story and the cinematographer did the beautiful landscape justice.
Good acting too.

Hope you all have a great week!

Therapy is such a tiresome affair but do not give up, that little finger will ease. Love and prayers are with Wendy. Glad you all went to the movies, it may be a little too modern for me.

Well,...that was a moving title!
And now, I'm officially caught up.
The finger will be moving along pretty well by the time all that PT is done. Just keep at it. Pina Colada isn't bad either...I guess your finger could smell worse.
Au de Stinky Bandage comes to mind! LOL...
As for the Maven...
does this mean she's one of those "Dizzy Broads"??
...really, I'm praying for her.

Wow ! Lots of info. Fingergate is going along ~ with the help of Pina Colada " smells " ~ if you have to go that would be a good way ~ better than Au de stinky bandage. The Maven ~ sounds like there is a plan with daylight at the end and we are going forward. I would guess with fingergate ~ that there are things you can't do ? Now how is the 4 legged population doing in the midst of all this ?

After I had my knee surgery I didn't think my knee would ever work or bend. Well two and one half years later - it can! You have to do the exercise and have patience. You can do it. Sandie

Oh my, that is something with your finger. They do expect it to bend at some point, right? Birdcage looks very nice. Praying everything runs smoothly for The Maven and she can have the surgery soon. I am looking forward to seeing that movie. I still like Tom :) and usually enjoy his movies. I have like three movies I want to see but just haven't had the time. It makes it harder when they are movies Mark wants to see too since his time is more limited and he won't go on the weekend!

Ann,
I love the title of your post - it is quite catchy! :)
It does seem like a lot of work for your finger - good for you for persevering, and keeping your sense of humour through it all.
I've always liked Tom, ever since Rainman, and Jerry Magurire..I saw the preview for the movie you saw, and it did look quite intriguing.
I will keep the Maven and you in my thoughts. Hoping for all the very best!

Glad to hear the therapy is progressing and things are moving along for your daughter, too! I've been wanting to see that movie, so it's good to hear your thoughts!
