Power of Positive Thinking - Does It Work?

We are in countdown mode here at Boston Manor.  Our daughter, The Maven, is on track to graduate from University in 29 days.  Of course, there are exams ahead and the usual daily stresses.

What does one do when it just becomes overwhelming?  Or when it seems impossible?  Or that it will never come?

What to do when someone who has struggled valiantly for the last several years over various obstacles thrown in her path encounters yet another seemingly impossible mountain to climb?

Those family and friends that know The Maven know what an incredibly strong, resilient and positive young woman she has become through much adversity.  But her confidence is shakey at the moment and she needs all the positive vibes the world can provide to her.

I've chosen to not worry, I've decided to instead focus on thinking positively and channeling my energies towards making things better for her and encouraging her not to worry and to just focus on her classes and look forward to what is sure to come in 29 days - college graduation.

I know my good friends here and out in blogland will send some positive thoughts in our direction.  And I thank you all for that.

29 days and counting.

I really believe in the power of positivity! Any time that I feel down, I remember those tough times, those challenges, and I remind myself how strong I was and I got through them just fine. You daughter, I know, will be just fine! She's made it this far, there is no turning back now!!

Take care, Sue

I will pray that all her hard work makes her confident and that all she has learned is brought to the fore front of her memory. I have a third year college student so I know something of this.

I used to be a person that would let my stress get the best of me (sometimes I am still guilty of it). I try to tell myself that this is a challenge that I will overcome. Yes it is difficult but in a few months or years from now it wouldn't matter anymore. Even though that thought process can't apply to all situations, knowing that we can overcome most of what life throws at us is uplifting. The Maven is definitely an amazing person that people can admire. Her resiliency and ability to face what ever life throws at her is extremely commendable. I am so glad to call her a friend. I truly support the quote "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" but I think "and helps you learn to emphasize with others" should be added to it. So happy for the Maven graduating! That finish line isn't very far now... Sorry for the long message :)

Well, this is really very exciting to hear that your daughter will graduate in just 30 days!!!
You are so wise not to worry, and focus on the positive, knowing that all will go well.
I will be thinking of your Maven, and also will be looking to hear the good news when she graduates.

The last push can be tough. We seem to go through it with our daughter at the end of each term.

Sending positive vibes to the Maven for the next 29 (actually 28) days. If she focuses one day at a time and soaks in all the support from family and friends, before she knows it, Christmas will be here and school will be a thing in her past....she will never have to attend school again.

Hugs to you her mother so you can get the energy to keep her boosted.
