Christmas Angel

This little angel girl was my mother's.  She would always appear at Christmastime with a red candle in her little basket.  I felt fortunate when my mother passed this childhood treasure on to me several years before she died.  The first Christmas after she was gone I took the angel out as usual, but this time she has remained out ever since.  She stands in my china cabinet with many other family treasures that I am lucky enough to have.  I keep her in there because I pass by her everyday and it reminds me of the wonderful person my mother was and it makes me feel like she is watching over all of us.

I'm not sure what her origins are or how my mother ended up with her, but she fascinated me so much as a child because she would just appear one day during the season and my mother would never light the candle.  I guess she didn't want the wax to drip on this delicate figure.  I turned her over once and saw she has a Lenox stamp on her underskirt.  I don't know if that means she is worth something or not.  All I know is that, to me, she is priceless.

I have no doubt your Mother is looking down from above and smiling on you especially at this special time of year.

What a special way to remember your mother Ann, who was and is an Angel and I firmly believe is always around.
Small things have such important meaning in our lives, and they add so much to the true mening of life and living.
