The Boston Family, minus the Bostons, has headed to California each summer since our son, The Writer moved out there in 2007 after college graduation.
That graduation year, Mr. Tennis and I drove The Writer's car across country for him as he was driving with Sammy, who also moved over there.
It was spectacular and I have so many pictures just from the trip across, but my absolute favorite part of California is the spectacular coastline.
We stopped overnight in this rustic lodge perched on the cliffs near Big Sur.
The 17-mile loop around Pebble Beach is worth the $10 entry fee. Who could hit a golf ball with that view as a distraction?
The black dots on that large rock are seals!
We got some pictures closer to shore further down the road.
This tree is the iconic image for this area as it shows the tenacity of nature in this rugged part of the coastline.
Heading back towards LA in the morning brings these misty images.
And a surpise gathering of Sea Elephants sunning on the beach as the day warms up!
Another time I hope to show the coastline views from the tony Laguna Beach area in SoCal.
