This Moving Stuff is HARD!!!

A quick post
(now that we have internet thanks to a handy Time Warner guy who was here climbing everywhere for about 4 hours - he arrived right after the movers left)

Yesterday was one of the most exhausting days I've had in awhile, well since probably the last time I worked Fancy Flea with Suebee and Kathy.

Nope, yesterday was harder.

I took some pictures around the house before the chaos ensued.

In no particular order:

Dining/Living space

"Master Bedroom"

Mr. T's office - or as the movers referred to it, "The King's Room" - They obviously were unaware that I am referred to as "The Queen" around here.

Larger Bath

Family Room

Kitchen

Front Entry

Family Room beams

My Space! Also a guest room

Neat space-saving door

Sadie, conducting inspections

Back Patio

Cute little green gate

Panda conducting outdoor inspections

Another view of Fam Room

We are very pleased with our rental and it is even nicer than we remembered it from our tour through it.

Then....
The unloaders came.

Sadie: "What the heck is happening NOW?"

I'm not a person who deals with upheaval really well and well...let's just say my sense of humor was absent for a good part of the day.  Heh, heh.

Mr. Tennis worked feverishly to get his office up and running so he can start working. (What's that? We're supposed to be working?)

And getting the TVs up and running.

I concentrated on making things looks somewhat familiar and comforting.

Got enough of the kitchen unpacked, with the help of The Maven who showed up for a few hours, to make my first dinner here.

With a gas stove!  Never used one, but the meatloaf (comfort food) was edible.

I realize this morning that I am going to have to go at a slower pace. Hence me logging on here for a break and talking to my good friends and family.

I did get one little vignette set up, flowers compliments of my brother, Mr. Connor.

They arrived last night as I was cooking dinner.  What a wonderful surprise from home.

Thanks Richard.
I will be back soon with some progress reports.
We hope to get out and about this weekend a bit during the Labor Day events.
Bumby will be coming here with The Maven, Darcy and Stanley the Greyhound for the weekend.
The Writer and Sammy remain in Tampa/Charlotte covering the conventions.

So...
Will Stan and the Bostons like each other?
How much more unpacking will get done this week?
Will TBL and Mr. T assemble their bedframe soon, or will they just continue sleeping with the mattress on the floor like college kids?

Burning questions, I know, and ones I hope to have answers to.

AND, I hope to visit some blogs in between unpacking over the next week.  My commenting has been scarce and I appreciate all who have taken the time to come over here and leave such encouraging comments,

Hey Ann!

This looks great. You're making progress...Mmmmm...Meatloaf, definite comfort food.

love the vignette, Pat

Irony... you're now in Cali and the Writer and Sammy are in Florida!
that struck me funny.

Ann,
It sure looks like you made alot of progress your first unpacking day. Things are looking very comfortable, there!
I also love your family room - and the yard looks so inviting!!
The Bostons will be feeling at home in no time, as their own comfort objects come out of boxes.
And with Bumby back, life should return to normal.
I hope Stanley and the Bostons become friends! :)

This does sound like a great idea - spend time enjoying Labour Day weekend activities, and exploring your new home city!
Have fun!!

You have accomplished so much...and you were just driving across country a few days ago! Your back yard and patio look very inviting, and I love your green gate! The kitchen looks great, with tile flooring. I am not crazy about gas stoves; it takes getting used to after electric. Hope all continues to go well. Don't run yourself ragged, now. And I hope you have nice new neighbors!! Thanks for all the photos, really fun to see what you have been doing. Beautiful flowers!!

You are doing so great! But you are right, take it slower so you do not get too tired out. Love all the photos and look forward to more as you get everything in it's place. Kit

So glad to see tht you are getting settled in properly and that your parent's mirror made it okay. I do like the look of your new temprary home. What a neat idea for a space saving door. Mr. T looked familiar on the sofa with the TV in the background. I'm glad to see that Panda and Sadie are doing okay, too. How nice of the owners to have left their patio furniture and hammock behind. You can reserve the hammock for me when I visit. Take it easy dear friend.

Wow you have been doing a great job with the unpacking! The room that has the green couch, table and white wooden chair looks just like the room from your other house right when you walked in the door. I had to do a double take because I thought that was an old picture lol. I hope you are taking some time to enjoy your new surroundings. Btw the back yard looks so cute! Hope you got to meet Black Jack? I think? I really miss you guys, I've passed by the neighborhood a lot this past week.

Hi Ann, thanks for sharing the pictures,I feel like I am there watching you running between boxes to eliminate the chaos, if you are anything like me, I get a headache when I don't see clean/clear/open space, just don't over do it, pace yourself. Take a break here and there, get some fresh air from your lovely back yard. I love the openness of your back yard with table and chairs, and a cute little green gate. Before you know it, you will turn this house into a comfortable cozy home sweet home in no time, well... it is already a home sweet home, now that all the love ones are together, especially when Zach returns from Florida ( it is pretty funny you are there in California and he is here in Florida ).
Remember, pace yourself!

Oh you are in, now it's home sweet home...sigh.

I understand how much work this is, after all we are still getting settled in here.

Stay calm, enjoy the new surroundings.
