Isn't Nature Amazing?

While we were in St. Augustine a couple of weeks ago (seems like ages now!) we found some interesting creatures washed up on the beach.

Jellyfish.
I've seen many kinds in my years on Florida beaches, but these were not any I had seen before.  A helpful local said that something had chewed off their tentacles, thus rendering them helpless and the beaching was the result.

Thought you'd like a picture of the Bostons strolling in the surf!  They had the best time.

Picture credits go to Mr. Tennis and his amazing iphone.

And here is some footage of two happy dogs (one in particular) running to their hearts content on a lovely beach in St. Augustine:

Well I imagine that particular jellyfish cannot sting you! You have me thinking beach and I cannot do it!

That movie clip of your dogs was fantastic - I could actually feel the joy of your dog running around. Must've felt fantastic!

My Gizzy does not like the beach because he's afraid of the very big water!

Looks like they had fun...did you?!!! Great clip.
I don't go in the water anymore because of those jellyfish or sharks. They were not there when I was young and swimming in the ocean.

Jellyfish very bad. The Bostons look like they are having a great time. Most of the rest of the country is buried in snow again so these pictures must really make them think of summer / beach time.

Jellyfish are no fun when they are near the shore! Years ago when we went to the beach it was polluted with jellyfish in the water and washed up on the beach. You had to watch very carefully where you walked not to step on one. Couldn't get in the ocean at all.

Looks like your dogs had a wonderful time at the beach! It's been years since I've been to the beach sad to say. I burn so bad in the sun so I just don't have much of a desire to go. When I see pictures like yours it does make me want to go back though.

Tuesdays' Show & Tail!
