Bumby and Pippa

One of our new neighbors is a young female kitty that we call "Pippa".
That is the name of my next cat (if I ever get one).

It has been cooler the last couple of days so the windows were open and Bumby finally got an eyeful of the friendly Pippa.

Pippa is often laying on our sidewalk or in the middle of the street (!) when we come home and she likes to come and visit.

Gorgeous eyes and coat!

And make herself at home on the yellow bench on the front porch.

Bumby was not amused.

I see you trying to make nice with that trespasser!

But not necessarily hostile either.

After all she has experienced in the last six weeks,
why would a little Pippa bother her?

Pippa trying to bite my camera.  So that's what cat lips look like...

It was a sad day for bloggers yesterday, especially in the "animal-blog" world.  A much loved and admired, "relentlessly huge", presence was unexpectedly lost yesterday when Mango the Mastiff crossed over the rainbow bridge.  "Mango Momma" gave this beautiful dog and his little brother, the "labradude", Dexter, a voice through their blog.

Although he is gone, how wonderful that his irrepressible spirit lives on through the archives of the, now retired, blog

and Youtube too, of course.

Hugs to Mango Mama, Master and The Pea.
And thanks for always making me laugh, Mango.

Finally found your "Pippa", Huh? At least until you get your own Pippa. so glad to see the yellow bench on your front porch - makes it look even more like home.

I, too, shall miss the wonderful adventures of Mango the Mastiff.

That shot of the lips is a bit eerie ...the lips look quite human...

Maybe the two cats will become friends? And I am always saddened at the loss of a pet. Hope you are feeling more at home there.

Pippa is such a unusually colored cat, she is beautiful.

But I can see why Bumbly might be a little territorial.

Our neighbours cat layed in the middle of the busy road all the time...who's up for playing chicken?

Love your neighbor Pippa, so pretty! So sorry about Mango.
I didn't know of him but any passing of a beloved pet weights heavy on my heart.

Pippa is quite the personality. She seems fearless. Mango and his antics touched more people than he'll ever know RIP Mango.

I didn't know Mango but it really makes me so sad. We all love are pets so much.

Bumby is jealous because she can't go outside and you belong to her.

Ann,
Pippa looks like a very friendly girl, and as well she is certainly pretty. Her colours are so pretty, and the eyes such a blue.
However, we do understand how Bumby feels. We cats are really quite possessive of our humans.
Does dear Bumby go out and sit on the bench?
B visited Mango's blog several times, and he was certainly a good guy. We're sorry about his family's loss.

Hi, Ann,
I see that Herb and Art managed to get on the keyboard yesterday, before I could make a comment here.
Pippa seems like a very freindly cat, and reminds me of the older days when cats were more free to roam, and visit. Cat's can be very friendly.
I love the photos of Bumby looking at Pippa, as Bumby draws herself up to her full height. She is a beautiful cat.
I read a few times over at Mango's blog, and he was a gorgeous dog. I know his family will miss him very much.
