Keep Your Paws Crossed for Bumby!

Apparently Miss Bumby has ingested something she shouldn't have and is spending the night at our wonderful vet for the night.  Not eating, choking up stuff (spittle-cat people will get it) and then having a croaky voice to boot.

Bumby, hmmmm, my blogging buddy.

Xrays revealed something right around her larynx area. Nothing ominous, as per vet, but definitely an opague mass (on the xray).

Disclaimer:  this is not Bumby's actual xray, but you wouldn't believe what you get on google when you type in "cat xrays".  Also, please know that all of Bumby's vital signs were very good.  Doc doesn't suspect anything horrible.  I am not making light of this, just wanting to distract my thoughts a bit.

I expect this sort of stuff from the canine set, and we have removed our share of bones, napkins, plates, etc. from their throats or stomachs, but never has one of my cats done this!

Of course we have been in an upheaval for the last few weeks and our house was full of "different" things.  I've been scouring her usual "haunts" to see what she might have gotten into.  Have baggied a few items for comparison purposes just in case.

Tomorrow vet will go in with a scope and see if she can see and retrieve whatever it is.  Meanwhile Bumby is staying overnight for hydration and nourishment purposes.

Again, not Bumby....

Update later tomorrow afternoon.  I'm sure she's going to be fine, but she's the last feline in the house and we want her around for a long time.

Hopefully it is a good sign that the vet did not feel he needed to remove anything immediately. Still very scary and I'll be watching for updates.
