Rambling Thoughts from The Boston Lady

Still working with the new camera and found an amusing subject in Panda.  What could possibly have her attention so completely?  Food? A toy?

It's her obsession and perhaps that is not a strong enough term for this undying fascination she has for such a simple, yet plentiful thing in this household.  Mr. Tennis does, afterall, reside here and leaves his playthings lying about. For Panda.

There are usually about 15 of these laying about the backyard so Panda can get a quick fix in any area of the yard.  They are verboten in the house because she slobbers and carries on over them in such a ridiculous fashion.  The house is a tennis ball-free zone.  But, step into the backyard and you are expected to heave these things until exhaustion sets in - either yours or Panda's, guess who usually gives up first?

This is the device from which we launch the tennis balls.  A "chuck-it", if you will.  Some genius invented this simple tool so those stuck in the endless tennis-ball-throwing-circle-of-well, H-E-double-hockey-sticks, do not have to touch a slobbery ball or wrench their back bending over to pick up said ball, one thousand times.  It also provides extra momentum to fling that ball pretty far.

Just in case you wanted to see it again.  Actually I like the way this shot has the "chuck-it" in focus and the obsessed canine in an appropriate blurred state.  Every day we do the "chuck-it". Every day.

And yes, Sadie is there too, but she simply is along for the ride.

She prefers to chew the "chuck-it" or chase after Panda barking wildly while Panda does the "real" work of fetching the tennis ball.  She sometimes simply "cherry picks" the tennis balls by standing in the outfield and waiting for one of the humans to "chuck" the ball for Panda.  She gleefully scoops the ball up just before Panda can get there for an "in your face" moment.

But Sadie always has a smile on her face when she's been running around and that's a pretty nice thing to see.

While the dog's are out running their fool heads off and barking like crazy the cats are lazing about the patio.  This time of year is Susie's favorite because she becomes an Oak Bloom Magnet. She loves to roll around in it and then bring her new coat into the house so the humans can sneeze like crazy.

For anyone who has not experienced the Oak Bloom part of Florida spring, well, let's just say it is H-E-double-hockey-sticks for anyone with allergies.  Thanks for making it extra special for us, Susie.

Well, that's it for my ramblings.  I will close with a picture of my blogging partner, Bumby.  She loves to be near the warmth of the computer and has been a great help when I'm struggling for just the right word.

Boston Lady and Bumby, out.
